Contaminated Plasterboard
One of, if not Europe’s largest plasterboard manufacturers is alleged to be responsible for the supply of contaminated plasterboard which is estimated to have been used in at least 300,000 homes over the past 4 years. The contamination is in the form of high levels of strontium and hydrdrogen sulphide which creates sulphuric acid when exposed to humidity,

The contamination is reported to be responsible for serious health problems to occupants and very premature failure of copper pipes, IT systems and electronics, and HVAC systems. Building forensics has in association with leading laboratories developed a simple air test to identify these problem boards.
